ARTIST BIO:
Joe Villalpando, also known as Bombero Tattoos, began tattooing in 1991 and has been tattooing professionally since 2004. He specializes in black and grey realism, bringing decades of artistic experience and technical skill to every piece he creates.
Joe holds an Associate of Arts degree in Fine Arts and has a strong background in traditional art. His creative interests include drawing with graphite and charcoal, as well as painting in oils, gouache, and acrylics. This fine arts foundation is reflected in the detail, depth, and realism found throughout his tattoo work.
Outside of tattooing, Joe dedicated more than 20 years of service as a firefighter before retiring from the profession. He currently works in cardiology at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey, California.
Known for his compassionate nature and family-oriented values, Joe treats every client with respect and makes them feel like part of the family. He attends the Hawaii Tattoo Expo annually and welcomes walk-in clients during the convention.
